This week Mississippi Gridiron, in conjunction with Super Talk FM is rolling out the Super 25, ranking the top 25 high school football players in the state of Mississippi.
Five players a day were released on air on Head to Head with Matt Wyatt and Richard Cross starting last Monday afternoon as they worked backwards from 25 to 1. Today we look at number-8 Willie Gay of Starkville High School.
Starkville junior linebacker Willie Gay is rated as Mississippi’s No. 2 recruit in the 2017 class by 247Sports Composite ranking. He started as a sophomore for a Starkville team that rolled to 13 straight wins to open the season, finishing with 33 tackles. His production is expected to take off as a junior after wowing college scouts in summer workouts. He is a legit 6’2 and 210 pounds, and routinely ran in the 4.5 40 range at multiple workouts over the summer.
