Capital Ortho Team of the Week for Week Four

The Capital Ortho Team of the Week for the fourth week of the season features Northwest Rankin running back Cam Marion. The junior rushed for 161 yards on 31 carries in a 28-21 win over Clinton.

 

OFFENSE

Quarterback, Ty Keyes / Taylorsville
Taylorsville senior quarterback Ty Keyes (6’, 200) completed 15-24 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns in a 56-42 win over Seminary. Keyes also rushed for 103 yards on five carries with two more scores. 

All-Purpose, Tyler Fortenberry / Brookhaven Academy
Brookhaven Academy junior quarterback Tyler Fortenberry (6’5, 205) completed 11-18 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns in a 53-6 win over Centreville. He also rushed 90 yards on five carries.  

Running Back, Cam Marion / Northwest Rankin
Northwest Rankin junior running back Cam Marion (5’11, 195) ran 31 times for 161 yards and three touchdowns in a big 28-21 win over Clinton.

Running Back, Austin Sanders / Nanih Waiya
Nanih Waiya senior running back Austin Sanders (5’10, 165) rushed for 239 yards on 27 carries in a 41-33 win over Tupelo Christian. 

Wide Receiver, Richard Mays / Ridgeland
Ridgeland senior wide receiver Richard Mays (6’2, 200) caught six passes for 144 yards and a touchdown in Ridgeland’s 48-18 win over Terry.

Wide Receiver, Christian Wright / Natchez Cathedral
Natchez Cathedral junior wideout Christian Wright (6’1, 175) caught nine passes for 108 yards and a touchdown in a 62-37 win over Glenbrook.

 

DEFENSE

Defensive Line, Jeremiah Williams / Holmes County Central
Holmes County Central senior defensive tackle Jeremiah Williams (6’2, 265) had 12 tackles including eight tackles for loss and three sacks in an 8-6 win over Columbus. 

Linebacker, James Ford / Sumrall
Sumrall junior linebacker James Ford (6’, 200) had a game-high 23 tackles in a 21-27 loss to Presbyterian Christian. 

Defensive Back, Ques McNeal / Choctaw County
Choctaw County defensive back Ques McNeal (5’11, 165) had four interceptions in a 50-18 win over East Webster, returning two of the picks for touchdowns. McNeal also had three receptions for 107 yards and three touchdowns. 

 

SPECIAL TEAMS

Kicker, Jon Surrette / Water Valley
Water Valley junior placekicker Jon Surrette (5’7, 150) was good on 6-6 extra points and added a 30-yard field goal in a 45-0 win over Bruce.
