Capital Preps Team of the Week – Week 4

Here is our Capital Preps Team of the Week for week 4 with some of the top metro performances from last week.


Quarterback, Jimmy Holiday, Madison Central
Madison Central junior quarterback Jimmy Holiday finished 5-11 passing for 110 yards and one touchdown to lead the Jaguars to a 35-12 win over Pearl. He also rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns.

All-Purpose, Kinkead Dent, Jackson Academy
Jackson Academy senior quarterback Kinkead Dent ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns on just 15 carries to lead the Raiders to a 31-14 win over Northeast Lauderdale. He also passed for 72 yards and another two touchdowns.

Running Back, Kenny Bacon, McLaurin
McLaurin junior running back Kenny Bacon ran for a game-high 180 yards on just 17 carries with two touchdowns to lead McLaurin to a 26-14 win over Richland.

Wide Receiver, Kiland Harrison, St. Joseph
St. Joseph senior wide receiver Kiland Harrison hauled in eight receptions for 125 yards including a 51-yard touchdown to help the Bruins to a 17-10 win over St. Andrews.



Defensive Line, Abrim Rankin, Velma Jackson
Velma Jackson senior defensive tackle Abrim Rankin finished with six tackles and a sack to help Velma Jackson to a 34-0 win over Yazoo County.

Linebacker, A. J. Leflore, St. Andrews
St. Andrews senior linebacker A. J. Leflore finished with 20 tackles and a tackle for loss in a 17-10 loss to St. Joseph.

Defensive Back, Joe Perkins, MRA
MRA Junior safety Joe Perkins was dominant with two interceptions in the first half of the Patriots’ 55-0 win against Hartfield Academy.



Kicker, Mason Walker, Brandon
Brandon junior placekicker Mason Walker was 4-4 on extra points and hit both of his field goal attempts to help the Bulldogs to a 34-6 road win over Tupelo.
