This week’s Capital Team of the Week for week eleven is presented by Capital Ortho. The players are selected from teams in the Metro Jackson area.


Quarterback, Justin Smith / Holmes County Central
Holmes County Central senior quarterback Justin Smith (6’1, 195) completed 10-16 passes for 282 yards and five touchdowns, while rushing for 95 yards and another two scores in a 50-20 win over Ridgeland.

All-Purpose, Ahmad Johnson / Pelahatchie
Pelahatchie senior running back Ahmad Johnson (6’1, 210) rushed 20 times for 361 yards and seven touchdowns in a 47-16 win over Morton.

Running Back, Marcus Harris / Jackson Academy
Jackson Academy sophomore running back Marcus Harris (5’9, 230) had 169 yards rushing on 25 carries with two touchdowns in a 15-14 win over Parklane. Harris also had three catches for 34 yards.

Wide Receiver, Jordan Harvey / Velma Jackson
Velma Jackson junior wide receiver Jordan Harvey (6’2, 185) caught 11 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-21 loss to Raleigh.


Defensive Line, J. C. Polk / Jackson Prep
Jackson Prep senior defensive end J. C. Polk (6’1, 195) had a game-high eleven tackles including a tackle for loss in the Patriots’ 49-20 win over PCS.

Linebacker, Hayes Bufkin / Brandon
Madison Central senior linebacker Hayes Bufkin (6’1, 195) had seven tackles, five tackles for loss and four sacks in a 36-23 win over Germantown.

Defensive Back, Quavius Thompson / Germantown
Germantown senior defensive back Quavius Thompson (5’7, 175) finished with a game-high 14 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble in a 36-23 loss to Madison Central.


Kicker, Josh Patton / Forest Hill
Forest Hill junior placekicker Josh Patton (5’10, 160) scored eight points with a pair of field goals and a pair of extra points in Forest Hill’s 33-16 win over South Jones.
