About Mississippi Gridiron

The first edition of Mississippi Gridiron Magazine (MGM) was released in 2010, instantly becoming the state’s first-ever football publication with information on every high school, college and junior college team in Mississippi. Since that time, the magazine has quickly grown to become the premiere source of high school football information in the Magnolia State.

Chris Brooks, the owner and publisher of MGM, launched the magazine following a ten-year career as the Sports Information Director at Mississippi College. As a college SID, he contributed to several other similar publications in other states and was determined to bring Mississippi one of the best in-state football publications in the nation. Thanks to great relationships with the Mississippi High School Activities Association, the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools, and the Mississippi Association of Coaches; he was able to make that a reality.

During the last five years, Chris has had the opportunity to travel the state and see the best football Mississippi has to offer. In total, he has attended over 250 games and has scouted all of the state’s top prospects with very few exceptions. He has combined that exposure with generous input from high school coaches to develop a rare expertise on Mississippi football. That knowledge has made him a frequent guest on many of the top radio shows across the state. He regularly appears on ESPN Radio 105.9 the Zone in Jackson and SuperSport 930. In addition, he began serving as a weekly guest on Fox40’s Sports Deck last year.

The magazine is an overwhelming undertaking each year, and would not be possible without the help of many professionals around the state and businesses willing to associate themselves with Mississippi Gridiron. Thanks to all of you who have had a part in making this venture a successful one.
