Spring practice recently ended around the state of Mississippi, but the grind never stops for football players and coaches as they work tirelessly to get ready for the 2015 football season.
For the players, it’s all about the weight room and track or field as they look to condition their bodies to take on the rigors of a football season.
DeSoto Central senior running back Alan Lamar is one of the many players doing just that, living in the weight room, trying to get better day by day. Lamar, who is listed at 5-9 and 185 pounds is one of the best running backs in the Magnolia State in 2015, with blazing speed as he has a listed forty-time of 4.33.
But – don’t let the frame and speed fool you, as Lamar is just as strong as he his fast.
Recently Lamar was recorded repping out 900-pounds on a leg press machine and he made it look like a walk in the park.

Lamar not only has speed to burn, but if you don’t square up and bring it when tackling him, he’s got more than enough power to go right through you.
