High School Team of the Week for Week 10

This week’s High School Team Of The Week features players from Oxford, McComb, PCS, Long Beach, Pearl River Central, Brandon and Tupelo.

 

OFFENSE

QB, Jack Abraham, Oxford
Oxford senior quarterback Jack Abraham completed 12-18 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns as Oxford beat Clarksdale 53-13.

AP, Venchenza McCray, McComb
McComb junior quarterback Venchenza McCray ran for three touchdowns as he passed for another as McComb picked up a big 47-37 win over North Pike.

RB, Isaiah Woullard, Presbyterian Christian School
PCS running back Isaiah Woullard had a huge night with 372 rushing yards on 39 carries as PCS beat East Rankin 58-42. Woullard scored five touchdowns.

WR, Trevor Terry, Long Beach
Long Beach senior wide receiver Trevor Terry caught ten passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns in Long Beach’s 36-34 win over Picayune.

 

DEFENSE

DL, Drake Whitfield, Pearl River Central
Pearl River Central senior defensive end Drake Whitfield racked up 12 tackles with three tackles for loss, a sack and four quarterback hurries in a 17-7 win over Pascagoula.

LB, Kevin Wayne, Long Beach
Long Beach linebacker Kevin Wayne finished with 23 tackles and a ½ tackle for loss as Long Beach upset Picayune 36-34.

DB, Javarious Spann, Brandon
Brandon sophomore defensive back Javarious Spann had seven tackles, an interception and recovered a fumble in the Bulldogs’ 28-16 win over Oak Grove.

 

SPECIAL TEAMS

P, Josh Smith, Tupelo
Tupelo sophomore placekicker Josh Smith was 4-4 on extra points and hit both of his field goal attempts in a 34-32 win over DeSoto Central. Smith hit the game-winner in the final seconds of the game.
