Players are selected with consideration given to the individual performance, the quality of opponent, and the magnitude of the game. Oxford sophomore quarterback Jack Abraham opened the 5A playoffs in style with a 348-yard passing effort in a 50-7 win over Vicksburg. Abraham completed 15-25 passes with four touchdowns.
QB, Wyatt Roberts, Louisville
Louisville senior quarterback Wyatt Roberts completed 24-33 passes for 354 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-27 win over Water Valley.
AP, Fred Trevillion, Brookhaven
Brookhaven athlete Fred Trevillion passed for 132 yards and a touchdown, and added 94 rushing yards on nine carries with another score in Brookhaven’s 28-20 win over Pascagoula.
RB, Kobe Drummer, Laurel
Laurel junior Kobe Drummer ran for 249 yards on 33 carries with two touchdowns in Laurel’s 34-28 win over Stone.
RB, Travis Beam, Magnolia Heights
Magnolia Heights running back Travis Beam carried 16 times for 314 yards and five touchdowns in a 40-10 win over Oak Forest to carry the Chiefs to the MAIS AAA District II championship game.
RB, Darrius West, Hinds AHS
Hinds AHS running back Darrius West rushed 40 times for 204 yards and three scores in a 35-7 win over Pelahatchie to open the 1A playoffs.
WR, Jevon Floyd, Gulfport
Gulfport senior receiver Jevon Floyd caught six passes for 163 yards and a touchdown in a 49-46 loss to Meridian.
WR, Keenan Barnes, Madison Central
Madison Central junior wideout Keenan Barnes hauled in seven catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-13 win over DeSoto Central.
WR, Zach Williams, Jackson Prep
Jackson Prep wide receiver Zach Williams caught seven passes for 115 yards in Prep’s 24-21 win over Madison-Ridgeland Academy.
OL, Madison Central
Madison Central’s offensive line allowed the Jaguar offense to pile up 468 yards of total offense in a 35-13 win over Desoto Central. The Jaguars finished with 249 yards passing and 219 yards on the ground. MC had 380 yards of total offense in the first half as they built a 28-7 halftime lead. The Jaguars started senior Austin Tatum, sophomore Matt Stanic, senior Leonard Swilley, senior Maurey Bland and senior Donald Warren.
