The Week 3 National Guard Team Of The Week features a big game from Brandon defensive tackle Monterrio Davis, another routine outstanding performance by St. Stanislaus quarterback Myles Brennan and players from six different classifications.
Quarterback, Tevarrius Adams, Meridian
Meridian quarterback Tevarrius Adams completed 24-32 passes for 415 yards in a 40-21 win over Wayne County. Adams finished with four touchdown passes.
All-Purpose, Myles Brennan, St. Stanislaus
St. Stanislaus quarterback Myles Brennan passed for 354 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 37-24 win over Long Beach. Brennan also rushed for 54 yards and another two scores.
Running Back, Malik Gray, Hazlehurst
Hazlehurst running back Malik Gray ran for 225 yards on just 12 carries in a 56-26 blowout victory against Magee. Gray scored two touchdowns.
Wide Receiver, James Beard, Loyd Star
Loyd Star wide receiver James Beard caught seven passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns in a 39-37 loss to Sacred Heart. Beard also had one carry for 48 yards and another score.
Defensive Line, Monterrio Davis, Brandon
Brandon senior defensive lineman Monterrio Davis piled up 14 tackles and two tackles for loss in a 28-21 loss to Clinton. Davis also had a pair of sacks. .
Linebacker, Quentin Wilfawn, Oxford
Oxford junior linebacker Quentin Wilfawn racked up a team-high 15 total tackles in the Chargers’ 21-17 victory over Madison Central.
Defensive Back, Tyrell Taylor, Northwest Rankin
Northwest Rankin cornerback Tyrell Taylor picked off a couple of passes in the Cougars’ 24-7 win over Pearl.
Kicker/Punter, Keaton Ware, Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart kicker Keaton Ware was 2-2 on extra points and 2-2 on field goals in a 39-32 win over Loyd Star. He also punted three times for a 34 yard average.
