National Guard High School Team Of The Week – Week 5

The Week 5 National Guard Team Of The Week features another outstanding effort from St. Stanislaus quarterback Myles Brennan, 439 yards of total offense from St. Martin’s Wayne Overman III and 380 yards rushing from Pisgah’s Don Ragsdale.

OFFENSE

Quarterback, Myles Brennan, St. Stanislaus
St. Stanislaus quarterback Myles Brennan completed 28-32 passes for 366 yards and threw five touchdowns as the Rock-A-Chaws beat D’Iberville 40-14.

All-Purpose, Wayne Overman III, St. Martin
St. Martin quarterback Wayne Overman III accounted for 439 total yards and seven touchdowns in a 63-55 win over East Central. Overman passed for 341, completing 25-38 passes.

Running Back, Don Ragsdale, Pisgah
Pisgah running back Don Ragsdale piled up 380 yards rushing on 22 carries including four touchdowns in a 56-49 loss to Heritage Academy.

Wide Receiver, Jordan Murphy, Hattiesburg
Hattiesburg wide receiver Jordan Murphy hauled in seven passes for 287 yards and three scores as Hattiesburg lost to Oak Grove 48-41.

DEFENSE

Defensive Line, Tomarion Wash, Forest
Forest defensive lineman Tomarion Wash had 18 tackles, two sacks and caused a fumble in a 281-4 win over Kosciusko.

Linebacker, D’Angelo Anderson, Meridian
Meridian linebacker D’Angelo Anderson piled up the defensive stats in a 20-10 win over Starkville. Anderson had ten tackles, two tackles for loss, an interception and recovered three fumbles.

Defensive Back, Tink Ragsdale, Canton Academy
Canton Academy defensive back Tink Ragsdale picked off three passes to help lead his team to a 35-0 win over Greenville Christian.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Kicker/Punter, Nicholas, Kirschbaum, Poplarville
Poplarville placekicker Nicholas Kirschbaum hit all five extra point attempts and a 36-yard field goal in a 38-35 win over Stone.
