National Guard JUCO Team Of The Week – Week 2

The Week 2 National Guard JUCO Team Of The Week features six different MACJC teams.

OFFENSE

Quarterback, Mason Cunningham, Northeast
Northeast quarterback Mason Cunningham (6’2, 185 / Shelbyville, TN) led the Tigers to a 24-21 win over East Central by completing 27-44 passes for 297 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Cunningham added 14 rushes for another 43 yards on the ground.

All-Purpose, De’Andre Johnson, East Mississippi
East Mississippi quarterback De’Andre Johnson (6’2, 205 / Jacksonville, FL) passed for 235 yards and three touchdowns as the Lions blew out Gulf Coast 45-7. Johnson completed 22-35 passes and also rushed ten times for 56 yards.

Running Back, Ladarius Galloway, Co-Lin
Co-Lin running back Ladarius Galloway (5’9, 195 / Indianola, MS) ran the ball 23 times for 154 yards and a couple of touchdowns in a 26-6 win over Coahoma. Galloway also had two receptions for ten yards.

Wide Receiver, Terry Williams, Itawamba
Itawamba wide receiver Terry Williams (5’10, 175 / Southaven, MS) hauled in six receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown in the Indians’ 45-20 win over Hinds.

DEFENSE

Defensive Line, Kam Carter, East Mississippi
East Mississippi defensive lineman Kam Carter (6’5, 310 / Germantown, MD) picked up eight total tackles with two tackles for loss in the Lions’ 45-7 win over Gulf Coast. Carter also had an interception.

Linebacker, Michael Graham, Co-Lin
Co-Lin junior linebacker Michael Graham (6’1, 230 / Southaven, MS) led the Wolfpack defense with ten total tackles, including a sack and three tackles for loss, in a 26-6 win over Coahoma. Graham also had an interception.

Defensive Back, Derric Hawthorn, Jones County
Jones County defensive back Derric Hawthorn (5’9, 170 / Collins, MS) finished with six tackles with a sack and a forced fumble in a 51-3 blowout victory over Mississippi Delta.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Kicker/Punter, Drake McCarter, Northwest
Northwest placekicker and punter Drake McCarter (5’11, 160 / Saltillo, MS) was good on 4-4 extra points and hit his only field goal attemp in a 31-14 win over Pearl River. McCarter also punted nine times for a 36 yard average with six inside the 20-yard line.
