The Week 4 National Guard JUCO Team Of The Week features a 588-yard explosion from East Mississippi quarterback De’Andre Johnson, a 566-yard passing effort from Itawamba quarterback Peyton Bender and 194 rushing yards from Pearl River running back Darious Leggett.

OFFENSE

Quarterback, Peyton Bender, Itawamba
Itawamba quarterback Peyton Bender (6’1, 180 / Fort Lauderdale, FL) completed 39-59 passes for 566 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-42 loss to East Mississippi. Bender did not throw an interception. .

All-Purpose, De’Andre Johnson, East Mississippi
East Mississippi quarterback De’Andre Johnson (6’2, 205 / Jacksonville, FL) passed for 417 yards and three touchdowns by completing 34-49 passes in a 44-42 win over Itawamba. Johnson also rushed 23 times for 171 yards.

Running Back, Darious Leggett, Pearl River
Pearl River running back Darious Leggett (6’1, 185 / Hattiesburg, MS) rushed 28 times for 194 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-20 win over Hinds. Leggett also had a couple of receptions for 14 yards. .

Wide Receiver, Dorian Gaston, Itawamba
Itawamba wideout Dorian Gaston (6’1, 185 / Ripley, MS) hauled in eight receptions for 149 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-42 loss to East Mississippi.

DEFENSE

Defensive Line, Vada King, Holmes
Holmes defensive lineman Vada King (6’2, 250 / Smith Station, AL) had a game-high nine total tackles including a pair of sacks and tackles for loss in a 34-12 win over Coahoma.

Linebacker, Cannon Gibbs, Jones County
Jones County linebacker Cannon Gibbs (6’2, 215 / Brandon, MS) had a team-high nine tackles with three tackles for loss and a sack in a 27-22 loss to Co-Lin.

Defensive Back, Tyler Glass, Gulf Coast
Gulf Coast defensive back Tyler Glass (6’2, 200 / Greenwood, MS) racked up a game-high 13 tackles including a tackle for loss in a 42-28 loss to East Central.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Kicker/Punter, Griffin Sublett, Co-Lin
Co-Lin placekicker Griffin Sublett (6’, 185 / Pascagoula, MS) was 3-3 on extra points and 2-2 on field goals including a 34-yarder in Co-Lin’s 27-22 win over Jones. Sublett also punted eight times for a 36 yard average with six downed inside the 20-yard line.
