National Guard Team of the Week for Week 7

The Mississippi Gridiron Team of the Week for week 7 of the season. Players are selected with consideration given to the individual performance and the quality of opponent. Players can be nominated each week by filling out our online nomination form.

QB, Wayne Overman III, St. Martin
St. Martin sophomore Wayne Overman III passed for 335 yards and rushed for 107 yards in a 48-21 win over Hancock. He accounted for five touchdowns.

QB, Julian Conner, Hattiesburg
Hattiesburg sophomore Julian Conner passed for 355 yards and five touchdowns in a 46-21 win over Biloxi. Conner added 69 yards rushing.

AP, Cameron Myers, Oak Grove
Oak Grove quarterback Cam Myers totaled 310 yards of offense and accounted for six touchdowns in a 62-21 blowout win at Petal.

AP, Vijay Miller, Itawamba AHS
Itawamba’s Vijay Miller piled up 322 yards of offense running, passing and receiving in a 55-28 win over Amory. He accounted for seven total touchdowns.

RB, Tavarus Fairley, Stone
Stone running back Tavarus Fairley rushed 24 times for 228 yards and a touchdown in a 28-20 win over George County.

RB, Alan Lamar, DeSoto Central
DeSoto Central running back Alan Lamar rushed 40 times for 294 yards and three scores in a 50-28 win over Horn Lake.

RB, Walter Williams, Vancleave
Vancleave’s Walter Williams rushed 17 times for 342 yards and three touchdowns in a 60-34 loss to St. Stanislaus.

WR, Jonathan Nance, Gulfort
Gulfport wide receiver Jonathan Nance caught 12 passes for 142 yards in a 42-14 win over Harrison Central.                                                            

WR, Jerrick Orr, Aberdeen
Aberdeen wideout Jerrick Orr caught five passes for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 41-0 win over Nettleton.

OL, Oxford
The Oxford offensive line helped the Chargers rush for 347 yards on 47 carries in a 49-16 win over Saltillo. The Charger offense also passed for 99 yards.
