Playoff Scenarios: Class 6A, 5A and 1A

With teams in Class 4A, 3A, 2A starting playoffs this week here are the playoff scenarios for teams in Class 6A, 5A and 1A heading into their last week of regular season.

CLASS 6A

 Region 1-6A

  • Tupelo has clinched the No. 1 seed.
  • If Southaven beats Horn Lake and South Panola beats DeSoto Central then South Panola is the 2 seed, Southaven the 3 seed and Oxford the 4 seed. Horn Lake would be out
  • If Horn Lake beats Southaven and Oxford loses to Tupelo then Horn Lake is the 2 seed, South Panola the 3 seed and Southaven the 4 seed. Oxford would be out
  • If Oxford beats Tupelo and Horn Lake beats Southaven then Oxford is the 2 seed, Horn Lake is the 3 seed and South Panola is the 4 seed. Southaven would be out.
  • If South Panola loses and Oxford and Southaven both win then Southaven is the 2 seed, Oxford is the 3 seed and Horn Lake is the 4 seed. South Panola would be out.
  • If South Panola and Oxford both lose and Southaven wins then Southaven is the 2 seed, South Panola is the 3 seed and Oxford the 4 seed. Horn Lake would be out.

Region 2-6A

  • If Starkville beats Clinton on Friday then Starkville would be the 1 seed and Madison Central would be the 2 seed.
  • If Starkville loses then Madison Central would be the 1 seed and Starkville would be the 2 seed.
  • Northwest Rankin has clinched the 3 seed and Warren Central is the 4 seed.

 Region 3-6A

  • If Pearl beats Brandon, Petal beats Terry and Meridian beats George County then Pearl would be the 1 seed, Petal the 2 seed, Brandon the 3 seed and Meridian the 4 seed.
  • If Brandon beats Pearl, Petal beats Terry and Meridian beats George County then Brandon would be the 1 seed, Pearl the 2 seed, Petal the 3 seed and Meridian the 4 seed.
  • If Pearl, Terry and Meridian all win then Pearl would be the 1 seed, Brandon the 2 seed, Meridian the 3 seed and Terry the 4 seed.
  • If Brandon wins and Meridian loses then the winner of Petal-Terry game on Thursday would be the 3 seed and the loser would be the 4 seed.

 Region 4-6A

  • Gulfport has clinched the No. 1 seed and Hancock has clinched the No. 2 seed.
  • If St. Martin beats D’Iberville then St. Martin would be the 3 seed and Biloxi would be the 4 seed.
  • If D’Iberville beats St. Martin and Biloxi beats Gulfport then Biloxi would be the 3 seed and D’Iberville the 4 seed.
  • St. Martin wins and Biloxi loses then St. Martin the 3 seed and D’Iberville the 4 seed.
  • If D’Iberville beats St. Martin and Biloxi loses then D’Iberville would be the 3 seed and St. Martin would be the 4 seed.

 CLASS 5A

Region 1-5A

  • West Point has clinched the 1 seed, Olive Branch is the 2 seed and Grenada is the 3 seed.
  • The winner of the Lafayette-Lake Cormorant game Friday will be the 4 seed.

 

Region 2-5A

  • Cleveland Central has clinched the 1 seed. Germantown is the 2 seed and Vicksburg is the 3 seed.
  • If Callaway beats Neshoba Central Friday then Callaway is the 4 seed.
  • If Callaway loses and Ridgeland beats Germantown then Ridgeland would be the 4 seed.

 

Region 3-5A

  • The winner of the Brookhaven-West Jones game Friday will be the No. 1 seed and the loser the No. 2 seed.
  • If Laurel beats Natchez and South Jones beats Wingfield then Laurel will be the 3 seed and South Jones the 4 seed.
  • If Natchez beats Laurel by 3 points or more then Natchez would be the 3 seed and Laurel the 4 seed.

 

Region 4-5A

  • Hattiesburg has the clinched the No. 1 seed and Picayune has clinched the No. 2 seed.
  • If Stone beats Long Beach and Wayne County beats Gautier then Stone will be the 3 seed and Wayne County will be the 4 seed.
  • If Long Beach beats Stone by 3 to 9 points then Stone is the 3 seed and Long Beach is the 4 seed.
  • If Long Beach beats Stone by 10 points or more then Long Beach would be the 3 and Stone would be the 4 seed.
  • If Wayne County loses to Gautier then the winner of the Stone-Long Beach would be the 3 seed and loser the 4 seed.

CLASS 1A

 

Region 1-1A

  • Okolona has clinched the No. 1 seed and Tupelo Christian is the 4 seed.
  • The winner of the Smithville-Biggersville game Friday will be the 2 seed and the loser the 3 seed. 

Region 2-1A

  • Hollandale Simmons has clinched the 1 seed, Ray Brooks is the 2 seed and Shaw is the 3 seed.
  • If McAdams beats JFK on Friday then McAdams will be the 4 seed.
  • If McAdams loses and Broad Street beats Ray Brooks then Broad Street will be the 4 seed.

 Region 3-1A

  • If Nanih Waiya beats Noxapater, French Camp beats Leake County and Vardaman beats Hamilton then Nanih Waiya is the 1 seed, French Camp the 2 seed, Noxapater is the 3 seed and Vardaman is the 4 seed.
  • If Noxapater beats Nanih Waiya by 6 points or less then Nanih Waiya is the 1 seed, Noxapater is the 2 seed and French Camp is the 3 seed.
  • If Noxapater beats Nanih Waiya by 7 points or more then Noxapater would be the 1 seed, Nanih Waiya the 2 seed and French Camp the 3 seed.
  • If Noxapater beats Nanih Waiya and Leake County beats French Camp then Noxapater is the 1 seed, Nanih Waiya is the 2 seed, French Camp the 3 seed and Leake County the 4 seed.
  •  If Hamilton beats Vardaman by 11 points or more and Leake County loses then Hamilton would be the 4 seed.

Region 4-1A

  • Lumberton has clinched the 1 seed and Stringer is the 2 seed.
  • The winner of the East Marion-Resurrection game Thursday will be the 3 seed and the loser will be the 4 seed.
