Oxford sophomore quarterback Jack Abraham completed 23-36 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns as Oxford beat Starkville 35-24.
QB, Andrew Dunn, Pascagoula
Pascagoula quarterback Andrew Dunn passed for 251 yards by completing 15-27 passes with two touchdowns in a 21-17 win over Ocean Springs.
AP, Trey Smith, Madison Central
Trey Smith ran for 242 yards and five touchdowns on 18 carries as Madison Central beat Gulfport 45-28. He added five catches for 91 yards and another touchdown.
RB, Darrell Henderson, South Panola
South Panola junior running back Darrell Henderson scored six touchdowns and produced 318 all-purpose yards in the Tigers’ 55-33 win over West Point.
RB, Tyus Raine, Petal
Tyus Raine rushed for 334 yards on 21 carries with six touchdowns as Petal picked up a 61-58 win over Picayune.
RB, Preston DeDeaux, Picayune
Picayune came up short in a 61-58 loss to Petal, but senior running back Preston DeDeaux had a great game with 283 yards rushing on 35 carries including a pair of touchdowns.
WR, (RB) Duncan Maxwell, Jackson Academy
Jackson Academy standout Duncan Maxwell finished with over 200 yards of total offense rushing and receiving as the Raiders beat St. George’s 28-7.
WR, Isaiah Howard, Ripley
Junior wide receiver Isaiah Howard grabbed eight passes for 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Ripley beat North Pontotoc 46-37.
WR, DeManuel Bailey, Greenville St. Joseph
Greenville St. Joseph wideout DeManuel Bailey had six receptions for 204 yards and a touchdown in a 42-36 win over Deer Creek.
OL, Oak Grove
The Oak Grove offensive line helped the Warriors open the season with a 45-14 win over Wayne County. Oak Grove piled up 349 yards of offense with 237 coming through the air and 112 on the ground. The starting lineup includes Ty Pollard, Brian Long, Dalton Bullock, Randon Knight and Tyler Daniels.
DL, Jeffery Simmons, Noxubee County
Noxubee County sophomore defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons had ten tackles and a sack in a 21-10 win over Columbus.
DL, Shawn Bishop, Callaway
Callaway defensive end Shawn Bishop had seven tackles, three tackles for loss and a sack in Callaway’s 27-14 win over Warren Central.
DE, Michael Long, Greenville St Joseph
Michael Long had seven tackles and a team-high two sacks in St. Joseph’s (Greenville) 42-36 win over Deer Creek.
DE, Brooks Edwards, Madison-Ridgeland Academy
Madison-Ridgeland Academy junior Brooks Edwards (LB/DE) had a team-high ten tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks as the Patriots beat Presbyterian Christian 20-6.
LB, Jonathan Burnett, Terry
Terry linebacker Jonathan Burnett collected 24 tackles, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble as Terry beat Belmont 34-28.
LB, Quatez Harris, Greenwood
Greenwood senior linebacker Quatez Harris finished with 18 tackles with five tackles for loss in a 21-13 loss to Grenada.
LB, Said Jones, Independence
Junior linebacker Said Jones led Independence to a 48-20 win over Coldwater with eleven tackles and two quarterback hurries.
LB, Hayes Walker, Jackson Academy
Jackson Academy linebacker Hayes Walker had 11 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in the Raider’s 28-7 win over St. George’s (TN).
DB, Chris Booth, Oak Grove
Oak Grove defensive back Chris Booth had three interceptions to help lead the Warriors to a 45-14 win over visiting Wayne County. He returned one pick for a 50-yard touchdown and also recovered a fumble.
DB, Brandon Ross, Adams County Christian
Adams County Christian athlete Brandon Ross picked up a team-high 14 tackles in a 20-18 win over River Oaks.
DB, Titus Washington, Yazoo City
Yazoo City defensive back Titus Washington had three tackles and three interceptions in Yazoo City’s 43-16 win over Humphreys County.
DB, Ben McCutchen, Booneville
Booneville’s Ben McCutchen had 12 tackles in a 19-6 win over Baldwyn.
P, Barry Rogers, Belmont
Belmont senior punter Barry Rogers punted four times for an average of 44.5 yards per punt and a long punt of 50 yards in a 34-28 loss to Manatchie.
PK, Patrick McRaney, St. Stanislaus
Junior kicker Patrick McRaney hit all five extra point attempts and was 3-3 on field goals as St. Stanislaus beat Long Beach 50-14. McRaney’s longest field goal was 38 yards.
