It’s all about the “fit”. It doesn’t matter if you are talking about the right pair of jeans, shoes, your house your car or – your football coach.
If things don’t fit, they normally don’t work out which is why Brandon, MS high school principle Buddy Bailey was patient, calculated and took his time on the next head football coach at Brandon.
Tyler Peterson was the guy selected for the job and It’s a perfect football marriage between the two.
Per Bailey: We are excited about Tyler’s ability to build upon our past successes and take this program to the next level. He has done this at several different schools and we look forward to him continuing to build upon the “Standard of Excellence” that has been established at Brandon High School. – BHS Principal Buddy Bailey
Peterson brings a 39-37 career record to Brandon with a state championship while at Noxapater in 2011, a program he built from the bottom up.
Peterson also inherited an 0-11 Kosciusko team and turned them into a 7-6 ball club almost over night.
Just last year he took Northwest Rankin back to postseason play – their first time since 2011.
It’s all about the fit – Peterson expects to win and Brandon expects to continue to be a challenger in 6A -football so this made perfect sense.
For the first time in Peterson’s career he won’t have to worry about changing the mentality of a program. He just has to keep doing what he’s always done at a place that already expects excellence.
Keep your eye on Peterson and Brandon because this is the perfect football fit.
NOTE: Press Conference will be Thursday at 10:00 AM with Q&A with Tyler Peterson that will be published afterwards.
