This week’s JUCO Team Of The Week features players from Itawamba, Northwest, Holmes, East Central, Northeast, Pearl River and East Mississippi. The Team of the Week is presented by the Mississippi National Guard.



QB, Kwadra Griggs, Itawamba
Itawamba quarterback Kwadra Griggs completed 23-32 passes for 289 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-7 blowout of Coahoma. The Southern Miss commit did not throw a pick.

AP, Justin Crawford, Northwest
Northwest junior Justin Crawford rushed 26 times for 193 yards and a touchdown in a 42-40 win over Northwest. Crawford also caught two passes for 77 yards and two more scores.

RB, Aquindus Henson, Holmes
Holmes running back Aquindus Henson rushed 25 times for 186 yards and a touchdown in a 42-40 loss to Northwest. Henson had a long run of 62 yards and also caught a pass for 13 yards.

WR, Kabion Ento, East Central
East Central wide receiver Kabion Ento caught six passes for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 28-19 win over Hinds.



DL, Anthony Rush, Northeast
Northeast defensive tackle Anthony Rush piled up 13 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack in a 28-20 loss to Mississippi Delta.

LB, Devante Davis, Northwest
Northwest linebacker Devante Davis racked up 16 total tackles including 2 ½ tackles for loss and a ½ sack in a 42-40 win over Holmes.

DB, Tyler Jack, Pearl River
Pearl River cornerback Tyler Jack picked off two passes in a 17-9 upset of previous top-ranked Co-Lin. Jack, a George County product, returned the second interception 44 yards for a touchdown with 1:57 left in the game. He also had five tackles.



PK/P, Grayson Pontius, East Mississippi
East Mississippi placekicker and punter Grayson Pontius was 7-7 on extra points in a 49-7 blowout of Jones. Pontius also punted three times for a 40.3 yards per punt average with two downed inside the 20-yard line.
